- Because families are often the very people who are daily facing issues which concern humanists.
- Because families want the mutual support that other humanist families can offer.
- Because families can find it difficult to be actively involved in the humanist movement.
- And because we are bringing up our children to be counted as humanists.
Why have a Humanist Family Network?
- The Family Network holds gatherings around the country. Some are residential, others are single day events. Venues have included Youth Hostels in Conwy in North Wales, Ilam Hall in Derbyshire, Ironbridge in Shropshire, Pembrokeshire, Lee Valley (North London), a small hotel in Nottingham and trips to museums in London and Oxford.
- Provides a web site and web forum for discussion of topics of interest to Humanist Families.
What Does the Family Network Do?
- provide a network of support and communication for Humanist Families
- raise the profile of Humanist Families within the BHA and in society
- help parents and children to express themselves within humanist contexts
- encourage future generations of young Humanists.
